I caught the very last episode of Farscape, simply because TV Guide, had said, not to miss it. Before that, I had very little knowledge fo Farscape.
I have been watching the show at Midnight, and it quickly became an obsession.
I'm sorry I could not support you all, in your fight to save, what I think it's one of the best written television series' in tv history.
it's truly amazing! Count me in, let me know all I can do.

Maz275, welcome to the fold.
For things to do to support the saveFarscape movement check out the HOME page. The to do lists have been resurrected and we have had quite a lot of interest from Showtime so they are a good company to be on your writing list. Snail mail seeems to get better results than e-mail.
It's a great thing to get into the habit of writing to the networks and advertisers on a regular basis. There's great stationery you can download (also from the Home Page) and use or make your own.
You've no doubt already found that the members at this site are a very creative group. So stay in touch, post and participate. It's great to have you here.:aok:

Thanks Guys for making me feel so welcome.
I have already faxed a letter to Bonnie Hammer. Luckily, I knew some people at Sci-Fi, because I pitched a tv show to them about two years ago.
Filled out the survey, and I am exploring the site. Feeling sorta bad that I found out so late about this site. I've been complaining to anyone who would hear me that this show was not supported by any marketing in my area. I know that had I heard about it, before it was cancelled, I would have never missed a single episode.
I think I may change my name to Talyn --- in support. and because it's a cool name.
m. mendez
or Talyn mendez... hmm, i like the way that sounds.

Talyn Mendez does sound good.
I say go for it!
Can't do much with my name. :(
Talyn Smith...yuk.
Anyway, welcome to Frell Me Dead. Don't worry, there's plenty to do--we're in it for the long run. Better late than never! ;D

Welcome! Better late than never :D
As for what you can do, let me just add to the other comments that when you write, be sure to mention PROMINENTLY that you are a NEW viewer. Ms. Hammer says it wasn't possible, that people like you don't exist. I would think any new network (or any new admin at Skiffy) would be interested in knowing that it is actually very easy to expand the viewer base with proper marketing support.
Oh, and welcome (or did I already say that?)

Pitched a TV show? Let me guess- it was too Science-fictiony.
Maz275

actually it was super sci-fictioney ---- but we thought it was perfect for the "Sci-Fi" channel, I had never written sci-fi before, although I have done a lot of tv drama ---
I will update you on the project, i am right now working with a friend to turn it into a comic book...
Anyway, I admit now that I've seen Farscape my idea lacks in comparison, Farscape is freaking, the most brilliant sci-fi I have ever seen. F*#k Star Trek... Star Wars, not nearly as complex...
I just last night saw one that incorporated cartoons, oh my god, I was in AWE. Next to Buffy the Vampire Slayers, HUSH episode, the Farscape Cartoon episode ranks as one of my top ten episodes ever written on TV.

That ep is particularly brillant, isn't it? That's what I love about Farscape, the creativity that the vast majority of other shows lack.
Welcome!

Last night at a production meeting, In the middle of chit chat I brought up Farscape. I was also wearing this farscape baseball cap, that I got from a friend in australia --- who sent it to me.
Anyway, I was standing up and acting out scenes and telling them about the last episode and how I was totally addicted to the show --- and I drew in two people who are not familiar with the show at all... I told em to check out this website --- and also to check out the show's DVD's.
I told them it was not my wish, but their responsibility as TV writers to see something that takes unflinching chances --- and major creative risks.
anyway, I will turn everyone in my path into Farscape Fans... I will start the Maz Church of Farscape.... :)
Good day to you all.

Welcome Max275
Since you're new to the show, here's some other sites you might want to check out:
Karlsweb Farscape e-zine. Lots of archived articles about the effort to save the show plus more:
http://starburstcards.com/KarlswebNewscape/
Farscapeworld. Great episode guides, interviews and also forums:
http://www.farscapeworld.com/main.shtml
Kansas. Another fun forum with lots of fan fiction.
http://forums.scaperoute.com/kansas/index.php
Pilot Paradise. There's a great piece here (Pilot Behind the Scenes) about how Pilot was designed and built by Henson's Creature Shop. There's pictures of some of the original designs (thank God they didn't go with those :rollin: )
http://www.purepilot.com/
There's plenty more. You'll find links to all kinds of places in the threads.
From your previous posts, it sounds like you're already goin great guns. So have at it and hope to "see" ya around.

And be sure to check out some of the music videos hosted by Dallascaper at Farscape Fantasy (http://www.farscapefantasy.com/). There are other great music vids on other sites, but Farscape Fantasy has the most extensive collection. Two particularly noteworthy recent additions (IMHO) are My Immortal and Silence.

Great to see that Farscape attracts new fans.
You actually expressed exactly what I felt when I saw this serie for the first time (the first episode).
I started my own post today, come and see it if you like.
"I can't and if I could I wouldn't boycott SciFi".
I thought I just made an comment on another one.
"Boycotting Sci-Fi? NOT FROM HERE!!!!".
So what do you think we should do to make more people not only looking but actually participate on our Posts. You have a had 15 of 158 visitors writing and sadly no one lately. And mine says 4 of 36 visitors.
To outsiders who we might want to impress, the number of participants must be more important than the number of visitors even if thoose are important too.
You seem to have come in fresh so do you have some ideas about this subject?
Sure hope so.
Welcome again

It's still early Dominar. The fight have just begun, sci-fi channel is leading by points but the Scapers are gaining momentum and is building up for knock out punch.
The wheel is hard to set in motion. But ones rollin, impossible to stop!
Ha, I love this metaphor stuff!
Hey Bonnie! Have a taste of this..... :whip:

klagad, I'm not sure I understood your question correctly, but if you were asking about how to get people to respond to your posts, there really isn't any magic to it. Sometimes someone will post and it just happens to strike a nerve with someone else who happens to be in a particular mood that day ... and it snowballs into a long chain of replies. Someone else could post the exact same thing on another day and get 0 responses -- not because nobody likes them or whatever, but just because ... well, just because. :) It's kinda like lightening. ;)
But I would certainly hope visitors to the site don't judge the health of the campaign by noting how many posts have 0 responses and how many don't. Some days the board is busier than others, that's all. I would hope visitors would instead look at the fact that there are over 4400 registered members (and growing steadily every day :hi: newcomers! ) and 80,000 posts, 99% of which have joined/been made since September 2002. That's pretty darn impressive :aok:
(If I misunderstood your question, never mind :O )
Hey Maz275
Welcome!
" it's one of the best written television series' in tv history"
So true--I can only compare Farscape to "I Claudius," and "The Singing Detective" as astounding television that totally knocked my socks off.
"I told them it was not my wish, but their responsibility as TV writers to see something that takes unflinching chances --- and major creative risks."
Boy, I wish you would publish an article about the show somewhere so that we could add these great quotes to all the other great quotes about the show by media critics.
More sites you might want to check out:
http://www.shriftweb.org/exodus/
http://www.snurcher.com/
All transcripts can be found between these sites:
http://www.shriftweb.org/exodus/transcripts.shtml
http://www.johnskeedvabbq.com/Transcripts/transcripts.html

There are also threads of sites somewhere on the board--so many good sites that I won't go on, although I'm tempted to add some of the random quote generator sites....

Welcome to you as well. What DOA says about counting posts is true--posting in an individual thread is almost random and doesn't say anything about the importance of what was said. If you look at the count of people who viewed the thread, you have to realize that many are non-registered visitors, and many are actually the same person coming back and looking again (and being counted again) as the thread gets longer. The count of views is not very meaningful. Everyone here is important and appreciated, and together, we are going to make enough noise to get Farscape back into production!
