I was thinking today, and the thought I thought of cheered me up. I only have a minute, because I promised myself I'd get some sleep tonight (Ha! as if), but here it is:
*drumroll*
It may have been a good thing that Farscape was cancelled.
*hears loud boos from the audience*
Now hang on, I'm serious. Look at what we have accomplished. We are the largest, best organized, most devoted fan movement in history. As a result of our indignation over Sci Fi Channel's idiocy, we have gotten together, gotten organized, and gotten busy. We are spreading Farscape everywhere we can. We are converting family. We are converting friends. We are converting total strangers on warships in the middle of the ocean. (See the Save Farscape main page article about the FS military project.)
Paradoxically, Farscape may emerge stronger because of our reaction to its untimely demise, and what we did to fight it. Would we ever have gone to such lengths, and formed such an organized, working movement, if the show had still been on? How many of you tried this hard to spread the Scaper love when its future seemed rosy and secure? I'm sure there were some who did, but for most of us I think it was the "death" of Farscape that really caused us to come to life. When -- NOT "if" -- it returns, the world will be ready... thanks to us.
WE. ARE. FARSCAPE.
Keep the faith.
