Ok, for a long time I was only a lurker of this great forum, but now I decided to become a member to participate the votings :D .
My first attempt to join this community was only short (2 days or so) because of some trouble with the server recently. It seems that my account was deleted and so I had to make a new one. But hey, that´s Murphey´s Law... :smokin:
I´m a Farscape fan since the very first airing in Germany in 2000 and I´m recruiting new Scapers from that time onward. :smash:
However, this is not an easy task presently. There is no free channel which is airing Farscape :irate: and most of the episodes are only available in English. This deters most of the people watching or bying the DVDs.
I also like other SciFi, particularly DS9, but nothing could or can ever beating Farscape!!! (ok ok, never say never, but it would be very hard...)
Craistine
(I apologize for my English, but as aforementioned I normally just read the postings, not writing threads or replies.)

Hello and welcome, Craistine. I got to visit Germany in 1970. I was in Augsburg.
Jump in and enjoy yourself.
PS. The only German I remember is how to ask for the local Gasthaus.

Tell me what does Roden mean in German?
Craistine

Thx for your nice welcomes! :beergood:
To TheBladeRoden: I don´t know what exactly means "Roden", but the German word for "Rod" is "Stab" or "Stange" (means Stick, Pole, Bar). I think this is the best translation I can give you.
Willkommen auf FMD, Craistine :hi:
Glad you decided to join. P.S I am German too :D

Hallo Craistine!
Ich bin zwar mehr auf Kansas zu finden, trotzdem willkommen! Ich bin aus der Schweiz :D

I'm not sure but I think Kyntio said something to the effect of:
"I'm on Kansas and you can find me there", and "I am Swiss".
How close was I??
Craistine
07-05-2004, 03:29 AM
Kyntio: bin auch manchmal auf Kansas, allerdings nicht *aktiv*. Grüß mir die Schweiz ganz lieb, habe Verwandte dort in Basel. :)
Baron: Hey, congratulation, you´re frelling close!!! He said he is *mainly* on Kansas (= mehr auf Kansas). I´m impressed!

I was in Germany long enough to pick up a little, but it's been many years. I can still see and recognize things in German, tho. Actually English is descended from German, and I think that's why I can see and understand certain terms. Not very much, tho. So feel free to talk about me if you want to!!

Craistine, I have got to say something else. I really respect your ability to converse easily in more than one language. I always wanted to be able to, but I guess I just don't have the brains.

Thx for the compliment, Boron, I wish my former English teacher could hear you... :nana:
However, if you don´t speak or understand the English language you´d be very alone in the web. Mostly all interesting sides are written in English and all the Farscape episodes are in English too. So, do I have a choice? :D
I too admire people who are able to speak more than their native language. In Germany it´s nothing special to speak English. Therefore I wish I could speak more than 2 languages, e.g. some exotic like Dutch or Spain.
Btw, does your name *Boron* refers anyhow to the same named God in the RPG *DSA*? :ghost: :scare:

I knew that most people in Germany speak at least a little English, But you're good.
I didn't know about the "Boron" God in the RPG, I told a lot of people that it was "bore and moron" put together. Actually, when I was young, one of the gasoline companies advertised an additive to gasoline called "Boron". It was supposed to make the gas more powerful and pure. It was an advertising ploy, of course, but it sounded good.

Welcome aboard! :wavehi:
Here in Poland we don't have "Farscape" on TV at all, after airing first two seasons the channel which was airing it was closed due to economical reasons back in 2001 so our only source were (and are) DVDs and eps downloaded from the net... Now I hope Hallmark Channel will air the upcoming Mini :)

Kyntio, I can read it better than anything else, and only very little of that. I would walk around the business district in Augsburg and try to determine what each store was selling.
Gabrielle62, your name evokes images of Gabrielle in "Zena". I thought she was.....uh....errrr.....very attractive.....uh....yeah!!.....

Thx for all the nice greetings!!!
Gabrielle26: I live nearby Düsseldorf, and you?
Kyntio: Sorry for the mistake, I know this problem , I´m also female. :D
But this time I´d chosen a nickname which indicates this I think... ;)

Welcome to FMD Craistine! So you live in Düsseldorf. Never visited it, but I have been in Köln (great place to be in december) and Oberhausen (the biggest roofed shopping-centre in Europe).
Tschüss!

Gabrielle26: I live nearby Düsseldorf, and you?

Gabrielle62, your name evokes images of Gabrielle in "Zena". I thought she was.....uh....errrr.....very attractive.....uh....yeah!!.....
my given name is Gabriele... why I went for Gabrielle I don't recall but it has nothing to do with "Zena"...
although now you've mentioned it... :lol
no... I've never really watched the series... but it's nice to know that you associate my name with being very attractive...
Gabrielle, are you BBO *Gabi*, from Berlin? *winke*
