Well, this is a thread that I expect to have a fair bit of updating. As you should know, the comics come out on Christmas Eve.

If you've preordered the comics, where have you preordered them from? If not and are just buying them as you see them, let us know where you get them from.

I've preordered mine at Forbidden Planet here in Leeds (UK). I don't expect they'll get them in until a few days after, but I've got the week after Christmas off so I'll get them as soon as I can.

My local comic store won't have them on the wednesday they come out, however I have the first issue supposedly coming to my house direct. So we'll see.

I do know that several stores in New York City have told me that they'll have them: Forbidden Planet on 13th and Broadway, Jim Hanley's Universe on 33rd and 5th, Midtown Comics on 40th and 7th, and Cosmic Comics on 23rd and Madison.

Heh - you don't really need to get your own, you should have your own personal stash

You can order directly from BOOM!'s web site (http://www.boom-studios.net).

Boom! was having trouble with a glitch in their online ordering a day or two ago, so if you get an error that says something about being unable to ship to x-location, or that x-shipping option isn't available, email them about it.

It's supposed to have been fixed, but just in case. ;)

I've pre-ordered from www.farscapecanada.com (http://www.farscapecanada.com) along with the The PeaceKeeper Wars DVD to finish off my collection. It's an awesome site with really interested and friendly people manning it.

I can't wait to get issue #1! I'm not even a comic book person but I want to know what happens next after all this time waiting. I followed it when it was first televised in the UK but I now live in Canada and every time I re-watch the DVDs, it's a pleasure/pain experience. The comic will be ALL pleasure!

Besides, I like the idea of having a clue about what the webisodes are going to show. :)

Just got issue 1! For those in Yorkshire in the UK, Forbidden Planet in Leeds has a fair number of them, including covers A, B and C (I got cover B - the "guns" motif).

The inner cover though suggests that there is a cover D, which I think is one I haven't seen. As far as I know:

Cover A - various cast members, blue background
Cover B - John, Aeryn, Chiana, Rygel, space/gun background
Cover C - John, Aeryn, little D'Argo photo
Cover D - ???

Cover D is the retailer incentive variant, where the retailer gets one for every 25 copies they order. It's a black-and-white version of Cover A.

I got cover B - the "guns" motif.

I love the guns motif as well. Much more stylized and "cool."

My comic book retailer was supposed to get a shipment in on the 24th but it looks like they weren't sent out on time so he's still waiting for them. I imagine they will be in tomorrow (his shipments arrive on Weds.) Fortunately I preordered a subscription on line and plan to buy the variant covers from my local guy. You might want to look into that as well in the UK, though I don't know what your options are where you're at.

Ring them.

I went in on the off chance to FP in Leeds to see if they had it. I had put my name down etc.

Basically, the people there said they don't actually ring people. It would take far too long. I can understand why - they do have a huge amount of people placing subscriptions, standing orders etc. Instead, they rely on the customers to know when the comic is out and they simply keep copies aside.

I'll be heading down to the city to pick mine up early next week. Heaven help them if they dont have it, because then I'll have to rip the city apart till I finds one! :D

I'm going to see if I can find another cover A version of issue 1 before issue 2 is released (which should actually be next week - KRAD said in another thread the plan is to release on the last Wednesday in Jan, Feb and March).

Got Strange Detractors #1 about a week ago from Forbidden Planet in Leeds. They only had one left on the shelves after I got two copies (covers A and B).

Strangely they've still got loads of Beginning Of The End Of The Beginning #1 left.

Got two copies (covers A and B) of D'Argo's Lament issue 1.

Seriously, before they even got them out on the shelves.

Screw pre-ordering, I wait by the counter to pounce!
