So I just bought every cover, including the sketch cover D. But I remember seeing a cover E somewhere on ebay. Has anyone seen this or am I just insane haha?:D

Also, is anyone else going to buy every cover?

The credits for #1 list four covers A thru D, and one "Challengers Cover" by Zach Howard, but I believe only three or four of the covers came into the local stores here.

That reminds me again that I keep forgetting to check up on whether the disclaimer of: Any similarity to actual persons, demons, anti-Christs, aliens, vampires, face-suckers . . . . so don't come whining to us. is specific to Farscape only, or to BOOM! comics in general.

I haven't overheard anything yet on whether the Farscape alternate covers are being bid-upwards on by collectors yet. This year, it was the Presidential comics which were in heavy demand, and last year, it was about "The Death of Captain America". :)

Ooo - I'd like to see images of these other covers. I've got cover B (guns motif) and the store I use has covers A (blue backdrop, various characters), cover B and cover C (photo cover).

I know there's a cover D which is apparently a black and white cover A which is apparently quite limited. What other covers are there (if any)?

There is a "Challenger" (http://cgi.ebay.com/FARSCAPE-1-Challengers-Cover-NM-LIMITED-EDITION_W0QQitemZ260340282966QQihZ016QQcategoryZ73 549QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1742.m153.l1 262#ebayphotohosting) cover (cover 'E') that you can only get through ebay. There are only 7 left.

Yeah I got mine from the place Nicola posted. You guys better act fast. Their was 11 left last night so they seem to be selling fairly well if their are only 7 left.

Edit: Now only 4 left haha.

Good cover, but I'm still far preferring my cover B.

Hey gang, this is Ross Richie here, co-founder of BOOM! Studios, hopping by to answer a few questions about the cover variants.

This is Cover A (http://www.boom-studios.net/farscape-1-cover-a.html).

This is Cover B (http://www.boom-studios.net/farscape-1-cover-b.html).

This is Cover C (http://www.boom-studios.net/farscape-1-cover-c.html).

50% of retailer orders were given Cover A. 25% of the shipment was Cover B, and the other 25% was Cover C.

So, there are twice as many Cover A issues out there in print as there are of either B or C.

This is Cover D (http://www.midtowncomics.com/Neshop/SearchResult.asp?txtTitle=farscape&biTitle=&txtSeries=Farscape+%23&cboMfg=1325&cboParCat=61&txtWriter=&txtArtist=&txtPrice1=0&txtPrice2=0&txtIssue1=0&txtIssue2=0&showOutstock=0&Grade=0&rdosubscribable=0&cboRelDate1=12-12-1900&cboRelDate2=12-12-1900&searchType=0&chkPreOrder=&chkShowSalesItems=0&txtKeyword=&WhereFrom=SeriesSearchResult&chkshowthum=1#)

Cover D features Joe Corroney's cover sketch, before he fully paints it to create Cover A. A sort of extra cool "DVD extras"-style look behind the scenes at the artistic process.

For every 25 copies of the regular Farscape #1 ordered (in 50% Cover A, 25% Cover B, and 25% Cover C ratios), retailers received a Cover D. That makes it the rarest, hardest-to-get Farscape #1 cover. You might find people referring to it as the "incentive" cover, as it was an incentive to retailers to order more copies of FARSCAPE so they could get this cool, collectible, limited edition item.

This is the CHALLENGERS (http://i11.ebayimg.com/04/i/001/25/b2/8840_1.JPG)comic variant.

A comic book store in Chicago, CHALLENGERS COMICS + CONVERSATION (http://challengerscomics.com/), was so excited about Farscape that they contacted us directly and bought a variant cover featuring the logo of their store on the cover.

This is limited to only 500 copies, so it is extremely rare, and is available only directly from Challengers in Chicago, or via eBay.

Remember, if you're in a place that's difficult to access a comic store, you can go to the BOOM! site HERE (http://www.boom-studios.net/catalogsearch/result/?q=farscape&x=0&y=0) and subscribe. You can buy your choice of A, B, or C separately (or get them all) and then select a subscription to the rest of the mini-series via A or B covers (or both). The series will use A and B covers on each issue from here on out, and the C covers will become retailer incentives (in other words, issue #1 is the only issue that has four covers regularly, from here on out it will be three).

I just want to take the time to thank the entire creative team for all of their tireless work and what they have done to contribute to the excitement of a five day sell-out.

- Big thanks to Rockne for making the time and being receptive to the crazy dudes at BOOM! suggesting that maybe he could architect the stories for the series, his tireless enthusiasm and excitement for our project, and ongoing support.

- Big thanks to KRAD for delivering an excellent script and his boundless energy and enthusiasm for what we're doing.

- God bless Tommy Patterson for taking the time to get all the likenesses just right and handling the often difficult and complicated storytelling challenges a series like this presents. We are all HUGE fans of his in the office! What a draftsman!

- Extra thanks to unsung hero colorist Andrew Dalhouse, who brings a special polish and luster to the final project. He is a HUGE Farscape fan, and it shows thru-and-thru.

- And finally, for marvelous designer and letterer Ed Dukeshire, who has been with BOOM! from day one, if not a little before, and is a HUGE Farscape fan and cheered for us to get the license when we were just considering it.

I think a big part of why the book works so well is that the artistic team -- from letterer to colorist to cover artists to interior artists -- loves Farscape just as much as the writing crew! It really is a work of passion for all involved.

Aaaaaand, just to make the post THAT much longer, if you're a fan of sci-fi, fantasy, horror, thrillers, etc. check out our FREE online webcomics!

IF YOU'RE SO SMART (http://www.boom-studios.net/catalogsearch/result/?q=farscape&x=0&y=0) by award-winning legendary comic writer Mark Waid, a ZOMBIE TALE for the zombie lovers.

THE BEACH (http://webcomics.boom-studios.net/2008/07/13/cthulhu-tales-vol-1-page-4/), a story for Cthulhu and Lovecraft fans.

And NINJA SCHOOL DROPOUT (http://webcomics.boom-studios.net/2008/07/14/ninja-tales-page-2/) by UGLY BETTY screenwriter Henry Myers, which is a NINJA TALE.

Enjoy!

I'd like to add my heartfelt thanks to Ross, Mark, Matt, Chip, Dafna, and all the other folks at BOOM! who have been absolute joys to work with. I've worked with a lot of different editors and publishers in 15 years (eep) in this business, and the folks at BOOM! have been some of the best in terms of both talent and enthusiasm.

In particular, thanks for taking a chance on some long-haired hippie weirdo freak with all of one four-issue comic book miniseries in 2000 to his credit before taking this on.

Wow! As a major Farscape fan, I really want to thank you and your team back. You guys have done an awesome job on this venture with the whole look-and-feel and the writing. The Farscape universe is finally continuing, allowing us fans to achieve some half-measure of closure.

May the goddess recite your name on the whispers of the wind.....as Zhaan would say. :)

I wonder how many covers Strange Detractors is going to have. Is it going to be like this one with 3 covers for the first issue and then two for the rest? Plus the incentive covers of course.

It is really and truly an honor. What a great series, what a great creative team, and what a great group of fans!

As a comics publisher, there is a LOT of different properties from film and TV to obtain the publishing rights for -- I have always had a vision and excitement for FARSCAPE, it is a great series, one of the greatest in sci-fi of all time, and the fans are just truly the best!

It is a great reward to a lot of work to hear from you that you enjoy it so much. Thank you thank you thank you!

We have solicited an "A" and "B" cover with an incentive "C" cover.

Whether we do more than that will be subject to other companies -- like Challengers -- wanting to do extras, or comic conventions like the New York Comicon or Wondercon or Emerald City Comicon, who have all exhibited interest, in doing special convention tie-ins.

All is final, until it all changes at the last minute! ;-)
