Honolulu, Hawaii Rally

We must be one of the smaller rallies that was held across the country - six and a half of us (there was a very excited 3 year old fan among us). We gathered at a comic book store at 10am Saturday morning. Amongst us, we had little flyers, colorful stickers, big flyers, Farscape T-shirts, a few press kits (just in case), and four beautifully made posters.

We spent the day walking around two major shopping malls, handing out flyers to anyone who would take them, and stickers for the little kids (they loved 'em!). People were generally receptive and a few even asked for more informations.

We also targeted a couple of stores, like Electronics Boutique and Waldenbooks. Some let us leave flyers behind to give to their customers. Waldenbooks was particularly nice, saying that they would hand out flyers to anyone buying SciFi products. We also left flyers on some cars in the mall parking lot.

We ended the rally on the beach (of course) where we set up the posters against a tree and handed out flyers to anyone who looked like they might be interested. We're planning on dropping off some press kits to FOX and CBS on Monday - they are the two networks that carry UPN programming out here (we don't get UPN as an actual station).

Hawaii doesn't have the biggest SciFi fan base, but hopefully we've interested some people, and we'll keep on doing what we can to get more interested. We figure the more they see Farscape paraphenalia around town, the more likely they'll be to look into it later.
