Ok this is the First time I have done anything like this. So umm... bare with me hehe. I sent an email eairler about an idea I had to the webpage email address. I don't know what would happen with my idea but i figured i might as well see if others think it is a good one. I am in the military and have been to a lot of bases that are isolated. As such the TV they have comes via the AFN network witch altough it tries it just sucks. That being the case people end up checking out videos from the service squidron. Thoughs video are donated so a lot of them are umm... well stupid. That being the case all the good one make rounds around the base and become part of the base culture. Guy sit around all day (in thier off time) watching, talking about and quoting them. Needless to say they become big fans. Those interests also come back with them and the show the friends and families. This has happen with a lot of show i know. I have done my best to spred interest in shows like Family Guy, Smallville and FarScape. It has work well so far, my dorm are big FarScape fans. Ok so after all that i get to the point. If we could get some money to send a few sets of the show to a few isolated places, Navy Ships, and Deployed bases in Kuwait, things like that. I know we could incress the size of the fan base a lot. The more fans there are the better our chances of getting it back. Ok well thats my 2 cents.

Care packages were put together and sent to troops in Afghanistan in November.
ADV Films donated twenty copies of FS for the packages:D

Ok, upon reading the title... I was like....
"military campaign"... hmmm.... this could be interesting. I'm not exactly sure how we could carry out a "military" campaign, but let's see what Farflung idea this might be....

My nephew is in the navy, and he's home now for the holidays. Forget the peanut brittle! The perfect gift for him (and the entire aircraft carrier!) is going to be the boxed set of Season 1 DVDs!

It would be nice to send the troops in Kuwait a boxed set of season one. Maybe the people who sent the care packages to Afghanistan can look into send some more out.

Zen Blade you made me LMAO!!!!! I'm still grinning.
I'm with grapeshot....how many and where do they get sent? My husband was in the marine corps and from hanging out with lots of marines I think a lot of them would love this show. A lot. And after all they're out there 24/7 protecting us and our country. They deserve a cool show to watch!

It actually sounds like a great idea that could build up as we go. It also sounds to me like we need to donate a few to the service squadrons, as you say. Not individuals. How would we go about donating dvd's to those places though?

I didn't know how big a responce I would get, this is cool. It is Christmas right now here (and in a few hours in states as well) so it will be a few days but starting on the 2 of Jan. I will go to the services squadron and see how we can get this thing moving.
I know i can throw in about 2 box sets or the cash for them any way.

Question?
I noticed FarFlung used the word video. Others are using DVD. Does it matter. Do most bases have both available are most equipped with one or the other. No point sending DVDs if they only have a VCR. And vice versa. Also, how is the library on bases.

Most day rooms and rec tent/areas are equiped with VCRs though a lot are getting DVD players, at least in the AF. I said tapes because they are cheaper. I think DVDs would last longer but not sure if they would get as much play as tapes at first anyway. Then again most guys i know have a playstation or x-box now so i guess they realy don't need to have anyother dvd player.
