really the Final Frelling Farscape Convention

the Farscape Convention, to be held November 18, 19 and 20 (2011) will be the Final Farscape Convention. Never to be held again. I would mention that this is the FIFTH Final Frelling Farscape Con.... I attended the first Final Con in 2007, thinking that it would be the last time I would have a chance to meet up with so many other Farscape fans. But we fooled Creation Entertainment that year -they ...had very high attendance on the final day of the 2007 con. So they decided to hold more Farscape Cons.
Sadly, with the state of the economy now, it is just not a profitable thing to continue having Farscape Conventions at all, and many other television programmed-themed conventions are being discontinued, pared down, or combined with other programs, diluting the field of actors who do appear at such events.

Anyway, sadly, this is the last time Farscape fandom has the chance to sit in a room full of 'Scapers and listen to Ben Browder talk to us like we are each a personal friend of his. No more will we have the opportunity to sit and chat with ...the likes of Anthony Simcoe, Gigi Edgley, Lani Tupu, Wayne Pygram or Jonathan Hardy, or the other folks involved with Farscape, like Richard Manning. It really made the later Cons special to be able to just walk up to some of these people and talk with them for a few minutes.

Yes it was the last Creation Convention but there is always Dragon Con in Atlanta. Much cheaper, lots more to see and do and 4 full days of fun for what Creation was charging for 1 day. Go to www.dragoncon.org and sign up now. The longer you wait the more it costs. You won't be sorry you went.

questions about Dragon Con:

1. if a hotel price is quoted as $192, for instance, is that for one night or 3/4 nights?

2. how approachable are the "guests/performers"?

I realize that there is probably a lot more waiting in line at DragonCon, as it is not anything like the Farscape Cons I have attended.

I have never been to any Convention, other than 4 Farscape Cons, so I have little knowledge of such events.
